Welcome from the Conference Co-Chairs

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we welcome you to 3P Arctic: The Polar Petroleum Potential Conference & Exhibition. Which this year is returning to Stavanger, Norway.

The Arctic is the last petroleum frontier with estimated 30% of the world’s undiscovered gas and 13% of undiscovered oil. This region becomes increasingly important to global future supply as recovery technologies develop and the ice gets thinner. The petroleum industry is now starting to draw on all its reserves of knowledge, innovation and determination in its efforts to discover and produce hydrocarbons from the Arctic.

The AAPG has launched the 3P Arctic Conference series to feature industry and academic research to improve the understanding of the Arctic geological history and resource potential. Three previous events held in Moscow (2009), Halifax (2011) and Stavanger (2013) showed the high level of demand for such an event from both Academia and Industry.

3P Arctic is all about sharing modern data and up-to-date geoscience and exploration knowledge that will prepare our industry for taking on the economic and technological challenges in this demanding icy region.  For this 4th event we have developed an exciting technical program covering all geographical domains and most of the key geoscience topics, which gives a fully rounded analysis of all that is understood of the Arctic’s petroleum potential.

We encourage you to attend the fourth edition of 3P Arctic, this time taking place in Stavanger, Norway. Our exhibition floor space will be exclusive to companies working the Arctic. Our oral conference sessions and poster presentations will all be focused on the Arctic geoscience and engineering technologies. Whether you are here to learn something new or share discoveries of your own, we know you’ll enjoy networking with like-minded professionals in this enjoyable setting.

The 4th 3P Arctic is going to be a great event, and we recommend you add it to your plans for 2015. We are sure you will enjoy your time in Stavanger.
